Abstract

A basic change is needed in the teaching learning process of Pancasila and Civics Education (PPKn) at elementary schools in the reformation era. The change of the teaching learning process should start from that of the indoctrinative authoritative attitude of a PPKn teacher to familiar-democratic one, followed by the change of materials teaching learning strategy, teaching aids, and evaluation. Furthermore, in the teaching learning process, the student should be motivated to change his passive attitudes to active and responsive ones, to enjoy reading, and to get more information from his environment to be discussed in the class
