Abstract

This study was designed to describe the graduates of the secondary school of tourism industry (SMIP) and their chance to get a job. The object of this research was SMIP in Surabaya, and the subjects were administrators and graduates of SMIP, managers of tourism industry, and other related institutions. Data were collected by interviews, questionnaire, and documentaries, and analyzed in percentages. The findings of this research showed that: there were two department in SMIP, the department of tourism business and the department of hotel affairs; the relationship between SMIP and the government and private institutions was good enough; most of SMIP graduates have got jobs.
