Abstract

Retention of English Irregular Verbs in Relation to Repetition Frequency and Sex. The study explores the most effective and preferred repetition frequency to facilitate memorizing English irregular verbs (EIV) by students of different sexes, 35 male students and 30 female students of an Islamic boarding school in West Nusa Tenggara. The data for this experimental study were collected through VCD that records EIV, tests, questionnaires, and interviews. The results of the two-way ANOVA analysis indicate that male students had a higher degree of EIV memory based on repetition frequency, with two-time repetition as the most preferred frequency. For male students, the higher the frequency, the lower the memory.
