Abstract

The Effect of STAD Model on Students’ Achievement in Solid State Physics Course. This quasi- experimental study was intended to invesitage whether the students taught using Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) learning model performed better in Solid State Physics Course than those taught using concept mapping with problem-solving models. Using randomized control group pre-test post-test design, this study involved students of physics study program, State University of Malang (UM), who had been randomly selected andthen assiged to experimental and control classes. The results of analyzing data obtained from achievement test and questionnaire show that STAD learning model improved students' achievement; the students in the experimental class of STAD learning model had a positive response slightly higher than the control class upon the learning process.
