Abstract

Thinking Empowerment Through Questioning and Cooperative Strategies to Improve the Students’ Metacognitive Skills. This article reports on a research project aimed to 1) know the differences of metacognitive skills among the students who learn by applying PBMP, PBMP.TPS, PBMP.NHT, and Conventional strategies, 2) know the differences of metacognitive skills of the stu­dents of high and low academic ability, 3) know the differences of metacognitive skills as a result of in­teraction between the strategies of learning and the students' academic ability. The results show that 1) there were signifi­cant differences in metacognitive skills of students who learned using PBMP, PBMP.TPS, PBMP.NHT, and Conventional learning strategies, 2) there were differences of metacogni­tive skills of the students of high and low academic ability, 3) the interaction between PBMP, PBMP.TPS, PBMP.NHT, and Con­ventional learning strategies with the academic ability significantly affected the students’ metacognitive skills.
