Abstract

The Dynamics of Choosing Concentration in Undergraduate School of Management. The purpose of this an exploratory sequential research is to find out the reasons of students in choosing a concentration in undergraduate school of management. The qualitative exploratory was used to know the interest by spreading open-ended questionnaires to students of Undergraduate Program of Manage- ment Department, Faculty of Economics and Business, Brawijaya University (FEB UB) of 2014 taken concentration. 169 informants are willing to give answers. Each answer was identified using CDC EZ- Text and coded based on the meaning. The result is 12 codes that show different reasons. Based on the code, close-ended questionnaires distributed to undergraduate students of Management Department FEB UB who took concentration, and obtained 125 respondents. Factor analysis produces three dimen- sions, the first dimension is the individual dinamycs, the second dimension is group dynamics, and the third dimension is the environmental dynamics.
